I’ve been to Los Angeles, CA a few times before. I’ve done the sight seeing: Disneyland, Universal Studios, Six Flags, Santa Monica Beach and all that good stuff people go to the Golden State for. I was even hoping I’d spot a Hollywood celebrity in public, as we all do when we visit this city known for movies and big dreams. But this time around, I found the unexpected. Maybe this is because I wasn’t really looking for anything. Thanks to a few good friends and some random strangers that shared with me why living in Los Angles is so great, I came to the conclusion that Los Angles sucks. Here’s why.
Music festivals are quite the occasion. From Coachella in California, USA to Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark and Splendour in the Grass in New South Wales, Australia – the music, hype, camping and crowds is what people flock to and often plan their travel plans around. And then there are music festivals like the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle - smaller, localized, and full of character. The majority of attendees are locals, friends of the bands, hipsters of the neighborhood, and people just looking for new up-and-coming artists to listen to.

People from all over the Northwest will travel to Vancouver, British Columbia this July to attend the Vancouver Folk Festival, a three-day long event, which showcases contemporary and traditional folk, roots and world music.
For one group, the journey to the festival is more than the usual weekend road trip. Festival acts: Jeremy Fisher, Said The Whale, Hannah Gerogas and Aidan Knight will be bicycling to the event, the last stop on their July music tour.
